  • Culinary Arts Week (6/16 - 6/19)

Bam! Summer starts off tasting good as campers go to Schola, and under the direction of Chef Amy, test their culinary skills as they create an Asian inspired lunch from scratch. Campers will learn about the international cultures surrounding each part and be exposed to a variety of different cooking skills needed to bring this to life. From the Japanese art of preparing and rolling sushi to the Chinese art of Wanton’s which date back to the Han Dynasty.

Chef Amy von Lange is an internationally trained Chef, having studied at the French Culinary Institute then at Ristorante Florio in Sicily which has been recognized by Michelin. Chef Amy now teaches culinary classes in her Canton kitchen.

*Note: this is a partial week each location follows the calendar of their local school system they are districted in. Active Minds Learning Camp begins the day that summer break begins.

  • World Cultures Week (6/29 - 7/3)

    Pass to Messi……..Gooooooooaaaaaaallllllll!!!!!!!

Our second week of camp has two options and the first option could be the most exciting and amazing experience Active Minds has ever undertaken, FIFA World Cup.

Campers will travel to Philadelphia and experience one of the World Cup Games. From the roar of the crowd to game winning penalty kicks, they will experience it all!

It has been decades since the last World Cup came to America and this is literally a once in a lifetime core memory for our campers.

This experience is restricted to current 2nd graders and up to limited locations and has very limited seating availability. This is also an extended day activity which will get back after hours.

The second option for this week has campers experiencing World cultures at the Passport to the World Experience. This event will expose campers to international dancers from around the world, international foods as they learn how to make them, international art as they make it, and experiencing music from every corner of the globe. From Mexico to France, from Curacao to Egypt, and from Ireland to China, kids will travel the world from Maryland.

The fun does not stop there as campers will experience the adrenaline rush of Great Wolf Lodge. From slides, to wave pools, to lazy rivers, campers will explore these water attractions for a day of fun….rain or shine because we are indoors!
