Ms. Logan

Education: Towson University
Background: Ms. Logan joined Active Minds in the summer of 2021. She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. Ms. Logan has experience teaching 4th and 5th grade in BCPS. Campers love her big personality and fun activities she plans at camp!

Ms. Gillian
Position: Preschool Teacher
Background: Ms. Gillian joined the Active Minds team in the summer of 2023, where she supported teachers at camp and on trips. Ms. Gillian supports our preschool program at Perry Hall, helping with daily instruction, small group, and field trips….while also supporting school age aftercare as well. Ms. Gillian is a certified teacher via the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Childcare.

Mr. Tony

Background: Mr. Tony joined Active Minds in 2024. He supports the teachers in the room, on field trips, and in Aftercare during the school year. Mr. Tony is currently an Additional Assistant at Seven Oaks Elementary.

Background: Ms. Ruth joined Active Minds in 2022. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and History. Ms. Ruth is a Substitute Teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools and supports our programs at our Perry Hall location.

Background: Mr. Adam joined our team in the Fall of 2022 when deciding to change careers and follow his passion…teaching!
Mr. Adam is usually seen lead our Lutherville kids on field trips through the summer and school year….while support preschool and running aftercare. He is a camper favorite!

Ms. Ashlyn

Background: Ms. Ashlyn joined Active Minds in the Fall of 2023 as a teacher in our aftercare program while working in Harford County Public Schools as a Physical Education teacher. You will find Ms. Ashlyn running large group games with kids or leading field trips.

Background: Ms. Diana joined Active Minds in 2022 and soon became the Director of our Parkville center. She now leads the Owings Mills location. She manages and supports programs at both locations, including aftercare services and summer camps.

Mr. Mike
Position: Executive Director
Education: University of Maryland
Years in Education: 12 years
Background: Mr. Mike spent 12 years in both Baltimore and Harford County Public Schools as a science teacher and special educator.
For nearly a decade, Mr. Mike worked at a special school that focused on experiential learning, connecting field trips to learning in the classroom. From, museums to kayaking to rock climbing and rappelling field trips we’re a weekly focus. During this time, Mr. Mike became an expert in risk assessment and field trip design. As one of the founding educators of the program he now leads this process on all Active Minds experiences.
Mr. Mike loves playing basketball and cooking. He loves going on vacations with his family. His family has a history steeped in the thoroughbred industry in Maryland and he loves rooting for their horses!
